Mychal’s Learning Place: (MAP) After-School Program is designed specifically for youth beginning at age 11 with developmental disabilities. Our facilities in Culver City and Hawthorne, serve the Greater Los Angeles communities. We provide life skills training, social and recreational activities, homework assistance and community integration. Our program challenges students with developmental disabilities to optimize their potential. And of course, we have fun.
Mychal’s Learning Place: MILE Program (Mychal’s Independent Living Experience) is a weekend program, beginning age 17, that teaches life-skills necessary to live independent, productive and meaningful lives. It includes family training to support, enhance and maintain the lessons taught. The goal is for students to learn skills necessary for daily/living and gainful employment.
Mission Statement
To assist children with developmental disabilities to build self esteem and independence by providing social and recreational activities with an emphasis on life skills training in a safe and loving environment.
In doing so, we encourage each child to develop their individual talents and the skills necessary for them to interact and contribute to society.
