We’ve got an exciting update about one of our After School Program’s brightest lights- Brandon! Known for his energy, joy, and infectious positivity, Brandon is taking a bold step forward into our Path to Independence (P2I) Program! While we’ll miss seeing him light up the room with his “Just Dance” performances- where he never missed a beat- we know he’s more than ready for the next step in his journey toward his dream of being a teacher. And let’s be honest, watching him grow has been nothing short of inspiring.
Bianca Amezcua, our After School Program Supervisor, shared, “He blossomed into a student leader- always ready to help his peers and someone others naturally turned to for comfort and support.” He even earned the nickname “Mini-Staffer”, due to his unmistakable instinct to teach and guide others. Brandon’s leadership and charisma were on full display in the Anchorless production of Tangled: The Musical and again at Mychal’s 23rd Luncheon fashion show, where his stage presence left no doubt: this young man was made to shine.
His talent goes far beyond the spotlight. “As an individual, he excelled in every training opportunity, from the Café to the Print Shop and Bakery,” Bianca added. Brandon will continue honing his skills in our social enterprises, learning everything from public transportation and daily cooking to baking, customer service, and technical printing. All of these skills will contribute to his long-term goal of becoming a teacher, and we know his days ahead are filled with purpose, progress, and plenty of potential.
“Brandon has shown tremendous growth during his time in ASP, and we’re very excited to be part of his new chapter into adulthood,” said Bridgett Franco, Path to Independence Program Director. “Brandon has a positive attitude and amazing energy, and his willingness to try new things will help him succeed in P2I. He will be a great addition to our program.” We couldn’t agree more. His journey is just beginning- and to quote Brandon himself, he totally “NAILED IT!”
