Meet Evan! This Hermosa Beach native was officially hired just two weeks ago at Mychal’s Prints & Embroidery, after more than a year of dedicated training. From folding and tagging to pressing and shipping, Evan’s got every step of the process down—and his favorite part? Easy: helping his friends!
Before joining Mychal’s, Evan worked at Honda, where he developed a passion for recycling and protecting the planet. He’s also a powerhouse off the clock—he’s a longtime soccer player and holds a green belt in karate. His favorite move? “Breakin’ the boards!” He brings that same energy to the job, arriving by public transportation three days a week and ready to take on whatever task is needed.
“Evan’s perseverance and curiosity allowed him to learn numerous tasks very quickly,” says Jose Carillo, Project Manager at Mychal’s Print & Embroidery. “In December of 2024, he successfully operated the printers, dryers, and heat presses on his own.” It was a standout moment that confirmed Evan’s potential—and just a few months later, he was officially offered a job.
Evan’s parents joined him at the shop for the momentous occasion, and were thrilled that his position was made official.
Outside of work, Evan is a globe-trotter with a passport full of stories. He’s cruised through Alaska, ridden dolphins in Mexico, hit the casino on a Norwegian cruise, danced in Dublin pubs, and soaked up the soul of New Orleans. But ask him about his favorite destination? Hawaii, all the way—and he’s already counting down the days until his return.
Evan’s heart, hustle, and positivity make him an unforgettable part of the Mychal’s family. It’s like Jose says, “It is an honor to have Evan as part of the team”, and we can see why!
