All About Linda
Linda is a sweet, caring, positive individual! She really loves spending time with family and friends, watching TikTok, cooking, baking, singing, and cleaning the house. Although Linda can be shy, she always has a smile on her face and loves to make people happy. One of her favorite ways of doing this is by telling jokes, she really enjoys making people laugh!
Growing at Mychal’s
In September 2023, Linda started in our Path to Independence Adult Day Program and has grown a lot during her short time at Mychal’s! She has developed important hygiene & independent skills that her parents have seen improved at home too! Currently, Linda is job training at Mychal’s Bakery and Mychal’s Café – she’s loving both experiences! Linda’s parents explained, “her experience at Mychal’s Café has resulted in more cooking at home and making different food choices.”
Paloma, Mychal’s Café manager, said “when I first met Linda she seemed shy and kept to herself. In the two weeks Linda has been training at Mychal’s Cafe, I have seen her engaging more with her peers, she is working on her customer service skills, mastering the point of sale system, and she already knows how to make the cold drinks. Linda has been coming in with a smile on her face every day and we are so happy she is part of the team.”
Linda shared that she really enjoys coming to program, seeing the kind staff, and hanging out with friends! She really likes helping with baking cookies and highly recommends our chocolate chip cookies – they’re her favorite!
Shooting for the Stars
Through Linda’s experiences with Mychal’s Bakery and Mychal’s Café, she has found a true passion for working within the food industry. She would definitely love to continue working in both social enterprises and hopes to become a full-time baker one day! We are so incredibly proud of Linda and all her growth – we can’t wait to watch all that she accomplishes in the future!
